Open Question: NHL 09 skill stick won't actively let you do slap shots?

For some reason (was happening only in period 2 at first) and now it won't cease happening. The right stick (ps3, in this case) when you tug back is supposed to allow for a windup slap shot but every time I tug back it only quick shoots like a one timer type of thing. This is getting really frustrating since I can no longer shoot from beyond like 10ft of the goal because I can't put any power into the shot. I will literally tug down and it just shoots off.. Any help? :/

when i go online and play 1 on 1 with someone there are two little boxes that show up on the bottom left and bottom right of the screen. it has my name in one and my opponents in the other as well as a number in each box. and throughout the game the number keeps increasing, what are these boxes for???

Like there about to have a face-off, and then the ref directs one of the players out and another player has to arrive in to take the face-off. Why does the ref do that? Any hockey players know the answer?

Open Question: Is the Stanley Cup "whored" off too much?

It seems there is a lot of history behind the Stanley cup and where it has been. Without looking this up online, I know I have heard it was left in a cab once or more, Jackie "jokeman" Martling supposedly pissed in it while Mark Messier paraded it on his lawn and allowed the press to look it displayed at his home and most recently Joe Elliot had it on stage and turned it upside down after allowing everyone on stage to lift it in victory. THIS MORON has never watched hockey yet he is allowed acess to hockeys holy grail! Other sports do not freely pass their legendary tropheys around. Resolved Question: Best #6's in the NHL now or historically?

I noticed tonight that #6 is still worn by Kotsopolous in Montreal. For a team with soooo many retired numbers, I was surprised to look the single digit (and my favorite number) still available there. Also, in Boston, the #6 has been worn by some serious nobodys. I'm a huge hockey fan,....but sometimes when I watch the highlights (every night, then in the morning again) and the commentators or whoever talk about an AMAZING keep...... Sometimes it just looks so obvious that really, the Player pretty much shot the puck into the goalies glove, pad, blocker, stick.
